"Aint Nothin for Dreamers but Dreams" ~ Sandra Lue Alvis
This is a quote from my grandmother that I will continue to acknowledge for the rest of my life. I believe this quote is talking about all of the people in the world that have dreams but never allow those dreams to become actions. Those "dreamers" will continue to dream rather than take action because they have no idea what a simple dream can become. I on the other hand, would rather be a person that has a dream that can be turned into a reality merely because I know a simple dream can be the one thing that can change the mantality of man and cause an overall new outlook on life itself.

I'm so proud!!!!!!!!!!!

As I wrote in a previous blog entry I planted my very own cucumber plant and I must say within two days I already had a sprout pop up. I was so excited when I saw the seed that I planted not too long ago become its own. I felt like a proud mother that just taught her child how to ride a bike or put on her own makeup. When I told my mother she didn’t have quite the same reaction as I did but, I guess a feeling like that has to happen to that very individual in order for it to be significant. Either way, my little seedling is definitely on its way. I have to update my sponsor, Mrs. Hilinski, and my mentor, Mr. Moreland, with my plants progress. I now see what the women at the Garden project are experiencing when they plant something one week and see it grow the next. I find the gardening process to be a beautiful experience because it is evidence that hard work pays off in the long run.

  1. Naleah, I'm glad your cucumber plant is doing well. I also get this way when it comes to shows. After months and months of work, when I look at the final product I feel like a proud parent, but usually when I look back, it's the process that I enjoyed the most. :)
