When I first met Mrs. Hilinski, it was refreshing to find out that she was down to earth and a great help when it came to making decisions that may have set me back in the process of assembling my project. In the beginning of this course, it was easy for me to find a sponsor but, it was difficult to find a place to go that wouldn’t hinder me from executing my project due to confidentiality. Because social work is such a touchy field, I had to find a place that would allow me to observe without being told something was too personal. Thanks to Mrs. Hilinski and her connections, she was able to get me set up with the Garden Project in Camden. With this being said, I hope to learn the many different tactics that are needed in order to make my project a success. Hopefully, after my project is complete, I will be able to use the knowledge that I get from the Garden Project and Mrs. Hilinski and incorporate it in other tasks that I may do after I am out of high school and in the “real world”.

"Aint Nothin for Dreamers but Dreams" ~ Sandra Lue Alvis
This is a quote from my grandmother that I will continue to acknowledge for the rest of my life. I believe this quote is talking about all of the people in the world that have dreams but never allow those dreams to become actions. Those "dreamers" will continue to dream rather than take action because they have no idea what a simple dream can become. I on the other hand, would rather be a person that has a dream that can be turned into a reality merely because I know a simple dream can be the one thing that can change the mantality of man and cause an overall new outlook on life itself.

My Sponsor
When I found out that I had to have a sponsor for our Senior Project class, I wasn’t sure who I would ask to do the honors of showing me the ropes about social work. But, I asked around and I received the name of the school’s social worker and it turns out that she was indeed the perfect person for the job. Jen Hilinski has been a tremendous help in the Senior Project process thus far. She has not only provided me with a number of different options to make my project a success but, she also has a background that interests me to the fullest. Mrs. Hilinski use to work in an psychiatric hospital and she also does a lot of other work with students within our school and outside of it as well.
